THINK GLOBAL, ACT LOCAL
Who is thinking about global problems?
How do we overcome the new challenges of a globalized world?
While politicians and high authorities are blinded by defending their convictions and leaving aside the common interests…Social movements and small initiatives are acting for change and demanding global awareness.
CHANGE & AWARENESS
Are we able to encourage change? How can we drive initiatives and take action?
Sharing our experiences, giving our point of view, discussing, expressing ourselves…This is the first step for action.
The common goal of all these ways of communication is to spread information and knowledge.
Information is power. And disinformation is an abuse of power.
Just think outside the box!
In this space, I want to encourage you to contribute to change. We are free to share stories and reflections.
Your voice matters!
Empowerment
The first thing we can change is ourselves. And this is the biggest challenge.
Understanding what is around us, how it’s connected to us and how we can have a positive impact, it’s not an easy task.
Indeed, it is necessary.
If I am willing to learn and listen to others, tolerate our differences, and question ourselves instead of others…We could find progress.
Be the change that you wish to see in the world.
About me
A lot of things have led me to create this website.
Before choosing my degree, I was wondering what made me happy. At that time, it was quite clear: I wanted to contribute – to be part of change.
I decided to study Economics and Law in my hometown, Madrid. I considered that both areas are the perfect combination of how a community can manage resources equitably while guaranteeing rights. As a day-dreamer student I thought “Perhaps, I could join an international institution and encourage my ideas and values through the organization!!”. But with time, I understood that institutions are surrounded by a lot of personal interest, bureaucracy, and a very unflexible process.
So, how can I contribute?
During my studies, I was collaborating as a Red Cross volunteer in Madrid, I travelled to Morroco and the Agean Islands (Greece) to support NGOs in education, child care, and basic needs (food and clothes distribution).
And after finishing my studies, while I was working as a teacher, I travelled to Honduras, Greece, West Bank, Israel, Turkey etc.
However, I realized that my biggest contribution wasn’t collaborating through NGO’s. It was all the experiences and stories I shared during my stay as a volunteer. In one word, volunteering is about EXCHANGE.
Economic, financial, and political institutions build and model the system. But individual actions are the drivers of progress.
Therefore, I want to create this web site. A place where our actions matter. Have you heard about the “Butterfly Effect”?
A butterfly flapping its wings can ultimately cause a typhoon.
Think about it!
